Online Classes
The Professional Medical Coding Curriculum is currently taught with lectures, power point presentations and hands on coding practices and quizzes. This style can easily transfer to an online venue without disrupting the presentation or material provide to the students.
Many remote students do not have the means or time to travel to a set location for classroom training. The online option provides students the opportunity for education regardless of geographic location.
Classes will be taught in a secure and reliable Virtual Classroom System (VCS) provided by iLinc for Learning software.
Students will be provided with a Participant Guideline to VCS prior to class Orientation. Instruction on how to log in to live virtual room will be provided via phone and/or email to each student. Practice session will be available for students.
Students will join a live virtual room session each week at scheduled date and time. There is a small piece of software that is automatically installed on their computer when they join a session.
When they join a class session, they will be required to have operational computer audio equipment (speakers or headset). Headset with microphone is highly recommended.
Through the use of a webcam when a student has joined a class session, they have the opportunity to see real time video images of their Instructor and the other students that have joined. This feature is optional for students use.
The additional features in the VCS is the ability to Share files, Powerboard, WebSync, Polling, Media Links, Content area for display during class session (photos, drawing etc), live chat private and public during session, Raised Hand, and Audio and Video Options.
